Downloading Instructions
- To download any of our data files, click on one of the links below.
Make sure you download the correct file (demo or full, regular
or Deluxe, etc.).
- If your browser asks you to either Save the file or Run (or
Open) the program, choose to Run (or Open) the Program,
otherwise you must do the following:
- Choose to save the file to disk.
- Next, it will ask you where to save it to. Remember the
folder where it will be saved and the file name!
- After downloading, use the Windows Explorer to open the folder
where the file was saved then double-click on the file name.
- This will first run a program to unzip the data and then
run our Data Extractor program. Read the instructions and unzip
the file.
- For our regular data products (not software) do the following steps
in our Data Extractor program:
- Select the Version. If you are downloading the Full Version,
check off the Full Version box and enter the password.
- Select the Base Product
from the list displayed. Make sure you select the correct
Full or Demo version of the data.
- Select the Add-On products. If you are demoing a product,
you can select any available add-on. If you have purchased a product,
you can only select the add-ons purchased.
- Select the Output Format. Normally,
you want to keep the default, comma-delimited output format.
Some computers, such as AS400s need to select the Fixed Width
format.
- Select the Filename Extension. If the data is to be used
with our Zip Search Deluxe software, keep the default. Otherwise,
you probably want to choose another suffix (the file name will
end in either '.txt' or '.csv' so that the program you are using
the data with will recognize it as a text file).
- Click on the Extract Data button. This will extract the
data to the folder specified in the 'Output folder for files'
section.
- Click on the Documentation & Additional Data button
and review the related help files.
- Make sure you Read the Documentation for the product
extracted!
Since these self-extracting archives end in .exe, you may
get a message from your browser stating that it may contain a virus.
Even though we run a virus checker on our files, you may want to do
the same.
